dashi vs plausible.
a plausible alternative that follows the money.
plausible is simple, cookieless, EU-hosted and open source, and it's the better pick when privacy decides. dashi is for founders who sell through stripe and want to see which channel, page and keyword each sale came from, with sales and refunds read straight from stripe, live on a 3D globe.

plausible is great.
here's when.
pick plausible if…
- you want no cookies and no consent banner. plausible uses no cookies or persistent identifiers; dashi sets a first-party visitor cookie.
- your data has to stay in the EU. plausible is built and hosted on european-owned infrastructure.
- you want open source or to self-host. plausible's community edition is free and AGPL-licensed.
- every kilobyte counts. plausible's script is 2.5 KB; dashi's is under 7 KB gzipped.
- you're leaving google analytics and want your history. plausible imports it.
pick dashi if…
- you sell through stripe. dashi reads sales and refunds with a read-only key and credits each sale to the visit that started it. in plausible, revenue is a business-plan feature, and you send the amount with an event.
- you want to know which google keywords make money. dashi estimates revenue for each search console keyword.
- you like watching it live. every visitor lands as a pin with their city, device, referrer and current page.
- you'll leave it open all day: music, live weather, globe skins, and sales that go cha-ching.
- you'd like to start free with every site included. dashi is free in early access; plausible starts at $9/month after a 30-day trial.

questions
does dashi use cookies?
yes, one first-party visitor cookie (plus localStorage), so returning visits and stripe sales line up. it isn't cookieless. whether you need a consent banner depends on your site and where your visitors are.
can I bring my plausible history?
not yet. dashi doesn't import data from other tools, so you can run both side by side while dashi's history builds up.
how does dashi attribute stripe revenue?
paste a stripe restricted key (rk_…) and dashi reads your sales and refunds. to tie each sale to a channel, add the dashi visitor id to your checkout session's metadata. dashi writes the prompt for you to paste into cursor, lovable or bolt. each sale is credited to the buyer's first visit.
what does dashi cost?
